Have you already ordered a box but have not sent it in for scanning? Now is your chance to upgrade your box from 300 DPI scans to 600 DPI scans. This upgrade MUST be ordered prior to scanning your photos. It cannot be applied to previously scanned orders.

Why Should I Add 600 DPI Scanning?

The quick answer is that higher resolutions lead to better scans for reproducing your images. 600 DPI scans produce much larger files but help ensure every detail in your print is recorded in digital form. If you want to be sure as much detail as possible is captured during scanning, add 600 DPI scanning (for an average 2,000 scan order, you are getting 600 DPI scans for about 16¢ per scan). If you want files that are easier to work with, 300 DPI scans would be a better choice.

600 DPI Scans Allow for Double the Enlargement

Part of the benefit of scanning your old photos, in addition to the added security of backing them up in a digital format, is the ability to create new prints, enlargements and photo products such as photo books. The quality and size of the prints you will be able to reproduce will depend upon both the quality of the original photo and the resolution the photo is scanned at. See the charts below for a guide comparing original print size, resolution and reproduction size. Scanning at a higher DPI will give you more options for reprints and copies to be passed down to future generations.

Need your photos scanned in a specific order? Group them with rubber bands denoting the order to be scanned and our technicians will then scan your photos in that order. SCAN IN ORDER OPTION EXPLAINED: Choose this additional option if (a) you have bundled your photos into categories and they must be kept together, even if they are all the same size or (b) your entire order is not grouped by size; putting your small bundles in size order does not constitute grouping your order by size. We recommend that you include index cards with handwritten notes describing the category or year, as pictured. The number in the top right corner tells us the order in which to scan. If the bundle order is not important, we do not need the number there. We do not offer reorganize your photos in chronological order. We either follow the number in the corner or scan in random group order when no number is present. The index card will be scanned along with the pictures and will be the first image in each series of photos. DO NOT use Post-it notes (they will be either scanned on the image or thrown away) or scraps of paper (they will jam in our scanner and be thrown away). While selecting this option does override the need to organize your entire order in size order, it does not override taking all of your photos out of envelopes or having the photos in some sort of orderly fashion.

Photo Index Book & Image Rotation-

To reduce dust and service scratches, most slides are scanned using Kodak’s Digital ICE Technology.

Premium Scanning 2000 DPI (6MP) or 4000 DPI (16MP) - Our professional technicians hand scan each slide and carefully adjust the images to achieve the optimum color and density, ensuring each image is at its best.
