Our favorite time of the year is Women’s History Month. So much history is locked away, stored in long-forgotten photo albums.
Women’s History Month is the perfect time to value and celebrate the diversity of voices, people, and ideas.
Hey, have you ever noticed how the female perspective is often missing in history books? It’s like, history is only told from the point of view of those who have power. It’s like, we’re not even mentioned in the history books. We’re just like, wow, what happened to all the women? I mean, we’re not even mentioned in the history books. What happened to all the women? Like, seriously, what happened to all the women? Where are all the women?
Don’t miss out as ScanMyPhotos celebrates Women’s History Month! For you, we added 22% off every photo scanning service all month [Promo code: WHM].
March is Women’s History Month: The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance, and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.
Many people think they only have one perspective on the world.
But scanning old photos gives us an opportunity to see other voices. And we believe it’s valuable, both personally and professionally, to listen to other perspectives and learn from them.
In fact, some of the smartest business decisions we’ve made over the past three decades, as we preserved one billion pictures, come when we see things differently by listening to other voices.
That’s why we’re celebrating Women’s History Month with 22% off every photo scanning service when you enter this promo code at checkout: WHM.
This is a great opportunity for you to revisit, celebrate, and share all your favorite adventures, family events, and celebrations–long forgotten in your photo albums, carousels, and boxes of 35mm slides, film negatives, home movie film, and VHS cassettes.
Celebrate Women’s History Month this March. ScanMyPhotos offers 22% off any photo scanning service throughout March.
History of WHM. Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress passed Pub. L. 97-28 which authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982, as “Women’s History Week.” Throughout the next five years, Congress continued to pass joint resolutions designating a week in March as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987 after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 which designated the month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.
