35mm Mounted Slide Scanning

Let us preserve your 35mm mounted color slides by delicately hand scanning them into a digital format. Slides are scanned at 2000 dpi which outputs at 500dpi @ 4x6 (5MP equivalent). Super-fast, same day turnaround on most orders. 4000DPI resolutions scans are available at a higher cost (16MP equivalent). 2000 dpi scans are best for most people and their needs. Photographically, these files can produce clear 8x10 prints. Select 4000 dpi if you plan on creating very large poster prints.

You can easily order additional photographic prints at the time the order is placed. We color and density correct and enhance each image using Digital ICE. (Note: Digital ICE cannot be used with B&W or Kodachrome slides. These slides will be scanned without Digital ICE. Kodachrome slide film uses a unique dye that responds differently from other slide films. Due to the nature of the dye and the Kodachrome film development process, Digital ICE can misinterpret certain image detail as a defect.)

Packaging Instructions: If your slides are in carousels, slide boxes, or sleeves you may leave the slides in them for easy shipping. If your slides are loose slides, we recommend grouping them in batches of about 50 and rubber banding them together to prevent damage during shipping and will keep them organized. Place in a box with lots of padding so they don't slide around to prevent scratching and enclose the order form. Slides must be out of metal frames or an additional 25 cent per slide fee will be charged.

NOTE: Our scanners are set up to scan standard 35mm slides. If we receive 126mm mounted slides, some of your image will be cropped off the top and bottom while some of the slide mount will be scanned on the right and left. We cannot alter this. See the image to the right for a diagram.

120mm Transparency Scanning

We can hand scan single cut or strip cut medium format. Pricing for single cut or cut rolls is noted below and is charged per frame scanned. As with standard 35mm negatives and slides, all scans are processed with Digital ICE to color correct and remove dust and scratches that may be present. Standard scanning of medium format is done at 1000dpi. High-resolution scans are scanned at 2000dpi at a higher cost. Due to medium format's larger size, we can scan them at a lower resolution resulting in high quality scans when compared to standard 35mm. You can easily order additional photographic prints at the time the order is placed. 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x8, or 6x9 format only.

Packing Instructions: If your transparencies in sleeves, please leave them in the sleeves. This helps protect your transparencies from damage from shipping. If they are not in sleeves, we recommend placing them in a standard envelope to help keep them protected during transit. DO NOT FOLD YOUR TRANSPARENCIES. This will render them unscannable.
