8mm Film Reel to DVD

ScanMyPhotos.com now offer 8mm and Super 8 transfer to DVD. Much like photos, slides and negatives, your old home movies fade over time. Converting them to DVD is the quickest and easiest way to ensure that your treasured movies are preserved for the next generation.

We've made it easy for you to convert your old reels of film to DVD. Simply gather up your 8mm and Super 8 reels, as many as you wish, fill out the order form and send it all in. We will take care of the rest. Each DVD will hold up to 1 hour of video and we will fit as many reels onto one DVD as possible. Please note these DVD's are designed to be played in a DVD player and are not editable on a computer.

Preservation is the key with any family history and home movies are a vital part of a family heritage. Dust off those old movies and bring them into the 21st century.

   IMPORTANT NOTE:    At this time we cannot transfer Super 8 with sound. Super 8 with sound will be transferred without sound.

Reel Sizes:

Film reels were usually made of plastic, aluminum or steel. The smallest reel size for both 8mm and Super 8 is a 3-inch diameter reel, approximately 50' of film. The largest reel is a 7-inch in diameter reel, which is approximately 400' of film. Other common reel sizes are 4", 5" and 6". All pricing is based on the physical size of the reel, not how much film is on the reel. For example, if a 5-inch reel is only half full, we charge for a full 5-inch reel.
