Click on any question to show the answer:
Q: Why can't I upload my files?
A: You may have answered "no", or closed the window asking you to install and run the ordering software. This software let’s ScanMyPhotos computers and photo processing equipment communicate with you. Download and follow these instructions to fix the problem.
Q: How can I share my photos?
A: There are three ways to share your photos:
- You can e-mail your images by clicking on the "Share" button to those e-mail addresses you select. The recipient can then view and order the actual photos online from 30MinPhotos.com for 3 weeks.
- You can order photos and enlargements and have it mailed to you or any domestic address you choose. (the same day; weekdays for orders received by 1:00pm (13:00) Pacific Standard Time via US Priority Mail).
- You can arrange to have the order picked up at our facility in Orange County, CA by someone that lives close to our store.
Q: What are the file size requirements?
A: For best quality prints, we recommend that your image is at least 200 Dpi for the best quality print. If you are not sure of the optimum file size, our bar system will guide you for the best sizes to choose, based on your file size submitted. Images are proportionally sized to fill each standard print size, which may require minor cropping. We cannot shrink your photo to print to an odd size. If you wish to print an odd size, create the image at the size you would like to print and then put it on a larger canvas that matches one of our predetermined photo sizes.
Q: What type of file formats can I send?
A: You can upload any of these digital photo file types: JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe), GIF (.gif), TIFF uncompressed (.tif, .tiff), Windows Bitmap (.bmp), Targa (.tga), Flashpix (.fpx), Kodak Photo CD (.pcd), Exchangeable Image File or EXIF (.jpg), Portable Network Graphics (.png). For the best quality balanced between speed and quality we recommend that JPEG files are used with the least or minimal compression with a minimum of 200dpi and a maximum resolution of 300dpi at the size print requested.
Q: Which web browser should I use?
A: The look, the feel, and the fun of PhotoCentral are identical on Macintosh and Windows computers using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Google Chrome. We DO NOT recommend the use of any Netscape Navigator (Official support for all Netscape client products ended on March 1st, 2008. Please see the
announcement for more details.) nor ANY version of Internet Explorer prior to SP2 6.0 due to many small bugs in the programs that cause uploading problems.
Q: Why can't I login?
A: The most common occurrence for this is a simple misspelling of the email address or password. Please double check that you entered in your information correctly. If you are sure you have, try using the password retreival link to send your password to your email. If your email is not recognized, more than likely the email address on file is misspelled. Please create a new login account and you will have access to our site.

Q: Will I lose my original file?
A: Your original files will not be affected or modified. ScanMyPhotos only makes a copy to upload to our server in the U.S.
Q: How much time does it take to upload photos?
A: Depending on your Internet connection and the size of your files, it could take several minutes per image, or a few seconds. When you click "Upload" a service window will indicate the approximate time to complete the upload. This is one of the reasons we recommend using JPEG files as the smaller the file size, the faster it will be to upload. Just don't compress your files too much as this will affect picture quality.
Q: Are there any size of cropping adjustments made to my photos?
A: Because these are Kodak-quality photos and enlargements, our service technicians will adjust the color and density of each image to enhance the quality as needed. One thing that cannot be fixed though is proportionality differences since we cannot break mathematical laws. We will attempt to crop disproportioned images the best we can but recommend that if you are concerned with cropping issues that you crop the images to the correct size prior to uploading your images.
Q: Will you print copyrighted material?
A: Federal copyright laws prohibit duplication or any reproduction of copyrighted materials without a copyright release. You agree that all transmitted images are yours or that you have previously received authorization to reproduce copyrighted materials. You grant 30 Minute Photo Etc. permission to reproduce the materials and agree to release 30 Minute Photos Etc. and its employees ("The Company") and will hold no claim against The Company. To complete the order, please confirm that you agree to these terms and that you are permitted to reproduce the transmitted photos in your order.
